Operational status of DB0NTS
The callsign DB0NTS is used for unattended operation.

A directional antenna is used for the link with the DB0BOS digipeater and it is therefore recommended to connect to DB0BOS (438525 kHz, 7.6 MHz shift, 1k2 packet radio, omni-directional antennas) when you are located nearby.
Generally, it is recommended to connect through Germany's central packet radio node DB0FHN.

Remarks: The frequencies listed above are centre frequencies.
The Packet Gateway will connect you to Germany's central packet radio node DB0FHN.
Scanning times and frequencies for European stations are agreed on with these users according to their needs. 80m is primarily used during the winter season and 40m is primarily used during the summer season.
Traffic with DTN/ NTSD MBOs in the US is exchanged on a daily basis. If you are running an MBO/ BBS yourself and are interested in setting up a regular sked please contact the DB0NTS sysop (see below).
Indirect HF access
A user may first connect to a HF gateway to the packet radio network and then to DB0NTS by packet radio.

Note that DB0NTS also runs a packet radio gateway.

The user DF0NTS first connects to the OE9FWV gateway on HF and then uses the packet radio network to establish a link with DB0NTS. After finishing the connection with the latter station the user gets reconnected to the gateway and terminates the connection there.
Client software supports gateways by connect scripts as well as by allowing to switch between keyboard and BBS mode within a session (e.g. Airmail). Users report indirect HF access not to work with BxF forwarding protocols. We therefore recommend to use this type of connection with terminal commands only.
Hamnet and public internet access
AXUDP links for message forwarding partners are offered both through Hamnet and the public internet. If you are interested in accessing DB0NTS either way please contact the sysop (see below).
Additionally, telnet to packet radio gateways may be used to connect the station by packet radio. This works very much the same as indirect HF access (see above).

Manual operation (DF0NTS)
Manual operations are performed under the clubstation callsign DF0NTS. This is to interface with traditional phone and CW nets both in Europe and internationally.
